E ach year, millions of people around the world hear, read and see The Skin Cancer Foundation's skin cancer education and prevention mes- sages through the power of press. The Foundation takes pride in being the primary resource for skin cancer re- lated media coverage. From national TV segments to features in major magazines, leading newspapers and the nation's most well-respected websites, the Foundation relies heavily on the media as a valuable tool to help spread skin cancer awareness. With the help of its member spokespersons, the Founda- tion generates more than three billion media impressions per year.* Physician members conduct nearly 50 interviews annually across various media, includ- ing broadcast and print. The Skin Cancer Foundation and its national experts have been featured on various news programs, includ- ing ABC World News Now with Diane Sawyer, CBS This Morning and Fox and Friends, as well as on local news stations across the country. Magazines and newspapers have also played an important role in furthering the Foundation's mission. This past year the Foundation and its spokesper- sons were featured in dozens of magazines, including Women's Health, Redbook, MORE, Health, Good Housekeeping, Ladies' Home Journal, Siempre Mujer, Men's Health and SELF. National newspaper cover- age included USA Today and The Wall Street Journal, and the Foundation was also mentioned in some of the na- tion's top daily newspapers including The New York Times, Los Angeles Times and Chicago Tribune. Online media also plays a critical role in furthering the Foundation's message. In 2013, the Foundation was quoted on popular and inf u- ential websites including CNN.com, People.com, ABCNews.com, Prevention.com, NYPost.com and FoxNews.com, among others. Many of the online articles in- cluded a link back to SkinCancer.org , generating major spikes in Foundation website traffi c. I n 2013, The Skin Cancer Foundation's website, SkinCancer.org, was visited more than seven mil- lion times. The website features more than 600 pages of medically reviewed content, including critical and lifesaving information on prevention, early detection and treatment, which is available in six additional languages (French, German, Greek, Italian, Portuguese and Romanian). At the beginning of 2014, The Skin Cancer Foundation launched CancerdePiel.org , a Spanish-language version of the website featuring 50 pages of content. THE SKIN CANCER FOUNDATION ONLINE — IN SEVEN LANGUAGES The Skin Cancer Foundation actively engages with its community of supporters and skin cancer survivors through Facebook and Twitter. These channels provide a platform for the Foundation to provide up-to-date information on the latest skin cancer news, and they make it easier than ever to spread skin cancer awareness messaging. To date, more than 33,000 Facebook users have 'liked' the Foundation's Facebook page. Users frequently share the information posted, which varies from new skin cancer statistics and research to informative news articles featuring the Foundation. The Foundation's Twitter feed, @SkinCancerOrg, currently has more than 10,000 followers. Twitter posts are frequently retweeted by Foundation supporters, including celebrities, physicians and other key inf uencers. The Foundation's Marketing Communications Department also keeps the press abreast of breaking news in the skin cancer space through their separate Twitter feed, @SkinCancerPR.
